Urban Infant’s product line covers all kinds of comfy cozy kids toys. They came to us looking for a product video series concept that could catch a web browsing mother’s eye and convince her to “add to cart” in one sitting. Something quick, clear, and too cute to scroll past.
We loved the idea of these videos having a homemade arts & crafts feel, like the kids on screen were playing with the set in real time – so we settled on a pseudo stop-motion style to foster an upbeat make-it-as-you-go vibe. Then half the fun (and half the work) came from our art team sourcing and hand-crafting toys that fit Urban Infant’s poppy brand aesthetic. But the biggest payoff of all came from shooting practical background transitions, where the kids literally grabbed giant rolls of colored paper and ran them across the frame between shots.
With the addition of bold text callouts, a bouncy music track, and a few fun visual gags executed via movie magic, we had a series that was as informational as it was adorable.
